These terms of use govern your use of MindmapMySurvey

Version 1 of these terms applies from October 16, 2026.

1. We make MindmapMySurvey, and these terms govern your use of it

MindmapMySurvey is a browser extension that reads a survey that you have open in the editor of a survey platform, such as SurveyMonkey's editor, and builds from that survey a mind map and a PDF. Mindmap My Survey, Inc. ("we" or "us") makes MindmapMySurvey and the website www.mindmapmysurvey.com. Our postal address is 512 Hetherington Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, Canada R3L 0V6.

These terms govern your use of the extension, of its free tier and of its paid tier, and of the website. Our privacy policy at https://www.mindmapmysurvey.com/privacy describes the data that the extension sends us and what we do with that data.

2. You accept these terms when you sign in inside the extension

When you click "I accept and email me a code" in the extension's window and then sign in with the code that we email to you, you accept these terms. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the extension. If you use the extension on behalf of a company or another organization, you accept these terms for that organization, and you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms for that organization.

3. We give you a licence to use MindmapMySurvey

So that you can document your surveys, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install the extension in your browsers and to use the extension under these terms. You may share with anyone the mind maps and the PDFs that you make with the extension. Every mind map that the extension saves contains the survey's data, which includes the words of the survey, and each person who receives such a mind map from you therefore also receives the survey's data.

We own the extension, its code, its name and the website. Except as far as the law allows you to do so despite this paragraph, you may not copy, sell or rent the extension, and you may not decompile or reverse-engineer the extension's code.

4. You alone are responsible for complying with the terms of the platform that hosts your survey

The extension reads a survey only under the following three conditions:

You alone are responsible for making sure that your use of the extension with a survey complies with every agreement, every permission and every law that governs that survey, which include the following:

We give you no advice on whether a platform's terms allow you to use the extension. Before you use the extension with a platform whose terms do not allow software that reads data from the platform's pages, you should ask the company that runs that platform for its written permission.

We have no affiliation with SurveyMonkey or with the company that runs any other survey platform, and no company that runs a survey platform endorses or sponsors MindmapMySurvey. SurveyMonkey is a trademark of its owner, and we use the name SurveyMonkey in these terms only in order to describe the platform from whose editor the extension reads surveys.

5. These rules govern your surveys and the files that you send us

You keep every right in your surveys. The extension builds the mind map and the PDF inside your browser.

The extension sends us a survey's files only when you click "Consent" in the pop-up "Report a problem". By that click, you give us the right to use those files only in order to reproduce the problem, fix the problem and write to you about the problem, and you confirm that you may send us those files. Unless you untick the checkbox "Hide the survey's words" in that pop-up, the extension replaces the words of the survey with placeholders before the extension sends the files.

If you agreed to send us usage reports, the extension sends us a usage report after each mind map and each PDF, and the extension sends no usage report otherwise. A usage report contains the numbers and the types of the survey's questions and rules, it contains no word of your survey, and our server stores it under your account. Our privacy policy describes the usage report and the report of a problem in full.

6. These rules govern the free tier, the paid tier and the trial

The free tier costs nothing. The paid tier costs $9.99 USD a month or $79 USD a year, plus the taxes that apply where you live. The prices exclude taxes, and Stripe adds the tax of your billing address to each payment.

With every new account, you can use the paid tier free for 14 days without giving us a card. When the trial ends, your account has the free tier again. Unless you subscribe, we charge you nothing.

When you subscribe, Stripe, the company that processes our payments, charges your card on our behalf at the start of each monthly or yearly period of your subscription, until you cancel the subscription. You may cancel your subscription at any time. So that you can cancel the subscription, in the extension's window, click the gear icon at the top right corner, and in the section "Account" of the panel "Settings" that the window then shows, click "Manage the subscription". On the page of Stripe that the browser then opens, cancel the subscription. After you cancel, the paid tier remains active until the end of the period that you paid for. Except where the law requires a refund, we refund no part of a period that has begun.

We may change the prices. Before a new price applies to your subscription, we will email you at least 30 days in advance, and the new price will apply from your next renewal after that notice.

7. You must not use the extension in the ways that this section lists

You must not use the extension in any of the following ways:

8. We give no warranty

We provide the extension "as is" and "as available". We do not promise any of the following outcomes:

Before you rely on a file that the extension made, you should check that file.

As far as the law allows, we exclude every warranty that these terms do not state, such as the warranties of merchantability and of fitness for a particular purpose.

9. This section limits our liability to you

As far as the law allows, we are not liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, such as a loss of profits, of data or of business, that arises from your use of the extension.

As far as the law allows, our total liability to you for every claim that arises from the extension or from these terms does not exceed the greater of the amount that you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and $100 USD.

10. You will indemnify us against the claims of third parties

You will indemnify us, defend us and hold us harmless against every claim that a third party, such as the company that runs a survey platform, the owner of a survey or a respondent, brings against us and that arises from any of the three facts of the list below, and against every loss, damage, cost and expense that such a claim causes us, which includes reasonable lawyers' fees. The list contains the following three facts:

We will tell you about such a claim promptly, and we may take part in our defence with a lawyer of our choice.

11. This section says how you and we may end these terms

You may stop using the extension at any time, and you may uninstall the extension. So that you can delete your account, in the extension's window, click the gear icon at the top right corner, and in the section "Account" of the panel "Settings" that the window then shows, click "Delete my account". Below the question "Delete your account?" that the window then shows, click "Delete my account" again.

If you break these terms, or if a court or the company that runs a survey platform requires us to stop the extension from reading surveys from that platform, we may suspend or end your account. If we end your access to the paid tier for a reason other than your breach of these terms, we will refund the part of your paid period that you could not use.

Sections 4, 5, 8, 9, 10 and 13 remain in force after these terms end.

12. This section says how we change these terms

If we change these terms, the extension's window will show you, at its next opening, a link to the new terms and the button "I accept", and you will need to click "I accept" before you can make your next map. If you do not accept the new terms, you may keep using the files that you made, and you should stop using the extension and cancel your subscription.

13. The laws of Manitoba and of Canada govern these terms

The laws of the province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Manitoba govern these terms. Except where the law of your country gives you, as a consumer, the right to bring a claim in the courts of your country, the courts of Manitoba alone decide every dispute that arises from these terms.

14. How to contact us about these terms

So that you can ask a question about these terms, write to support@mindmapmysurvey.com or to our postal address in section 1.
